Homework

Homework helps to reinforce, enrich, and extend learning. It develops positive study habits and responsibility. It also provides the parent with communications of daily assignments and lessons. Please be sure to sign the homework planner nightly and note any concerns/questions you may have encountered with your child .Language Arts and Math homework will be assigned nightly ( rarely will there be math homework over the weekend). Many of the math homelinks are referenced in the student reference book which will remain in your child's backpack at all times. Each student is assigned one reference book for the year and it is used daily in class and often for homework. The reference book must remain in your child's backpack so it can be accessed in both environments.

Students will be accountable for their homework assignments. Although homework is not graded,failure to complete an assignment will result in a loss of privileges. Your child will earn after school detention if he/she fails to complete eight homework assignments per quarter.

Weekly completion of all assignments along with appropriate in class behavior will be rewarded with Freedom Friday privileges. Failure to complete homework will result in completing missed assignments during the Freedom Friday time with the appropriate teacher for that week. Your child's daily planner serves as the communication of behavior as well as completed homework. Assignments that are incomplete will be noted daily on your child's planner daily.
